05:45 pm - A NY STATE OF MIND i realize the obstacles I'm facing and will always have to face through life's cycle. this summer has been enlightening and awakening. i learned the meaning of what subjects and why i want to photograph them. this is a guy i met who is spending his summer outside smoking a cigarette with his homemade boom box house with lights hooked up in the inside. these are the kind of people i like to capture & document. it hit me up while taking photos in the lower east side of a friend who wanted me to take headshots of him with his fancy $4,000 5D mark II cannon. As i shot photos of him i had to stop this guy who was riding this awesome low rider bike. I shouted and said, "YOU ON THE LOW RIDER BIKE!" he rode towards us and i asked if i can take his picture. he was hyped to have his picture taken. i posted the photo on my flickr and one of my friends knew him and apparently he was in the bloods and was stabbed and died a week after i took the photo. Even though he was a random stranger i had this connection towards him whether it be style, character, a story that you can read through his body language and face it was shocking to find out his life was taken. R.I.P PEDRO-
